Match the required Mercedes oil specification and choose the filter by engine. Compare the exact MANN HU 711/6 z package for listed applications.

Match the oil requirement first

Read the oil requirement for the specific vehicle and installed engine before selecting a bottle. MB 229.5 is a specification reference, not a universal instruction for every Mercedes engine. Check the exact oil product’s current manufacturer documentation and retailer information against the required specification and viscosity. A different MB reference is not automatically interchangeable.

Treat oil and filter selection as separate decisions

A filter listing does not establish oil approval, viscosity, service quantity or an oil-change interval. Likewise, a compatible oil does not identify the correct filter cartridge. Verify both items against the vehicle configuration before checkout. This guide does not attach an unverified oil offer to the MB 229.5 recommendation.

Compare the MANN HU 711/6 z filter kit

ECS lists MANN-FILTER HU 711/6 z under merchant reference 2701800109 for selected M260, M264, M270 and M274 applications. The package contains one filter cartridge, one housing seal and two O-rings. One representative listing is the 2019 A220 4Matic with the 2.0-liter 260.920 engine and 177.145 chassis. Confirm the retailer’s exact application row; this filter example does not establish that the vehicle requires MB 229.5 oil.

Finish the order on the retailer page

Choose the filter offer only after confirming the engine and package. Select oil independently using the vehicle requirement and a supported product listing. Check the merchant for current transaction terms and any additional parts needed for the service. EWP compares and refers products; the merchant handles checkout and final fitment confirmation.

Lee Shahin founded European Wholesale Parts in Pleasanton, California, after 18 years in the Mercedes-Benz and BMW parts trade. He came to the parts side from the shop floor: he opened a European repair shop in Northern California in the early 1990s, specialising in Mercedes-Benz and BMW, and grew it with his wife Laurie into a parts and delivery operation serving body shops and independent repair facilities across the region. Nearly two decades at the parts counter taught him where the expensive mistakes happen, and most of them are fluids: the wrong coolant in an aluminium block, an oil without the sheet approval the engine was designed for, a transmission topped with the wrong ATF. That is what he writes about here. Every article names the manufacturer specification by its exact designation, explains what the wrong fluid does mechanically, lists products that carry the approval, and gives the capacity and interval for the models and years the specification covers. When a reader needs a part sourced, the quote desk at European Wholesale Parts is where Lee and Laurie still answer the phone.
