1. What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect through europeanwholesaleparts.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors, quote and contact form users, and account holders.

2. Information we collect

You give us directly

  • Quote and contact forms: name, email address, phone number, company, vehicle or part details, and your message.
  • Account registration and sign-in (handled by Clerk): name, email address, and login credentials. We never see your password.
  • Orders and saved addresses: shipping and billing addresses, order contents, and order history.
  • Payments: card details are entered directly with Stripe. We receive a payment confirmation and the last four digits of the card, never the full card number.

Collected automatically

  • Usage data through Google Analytics 4: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, referring site, and interaction events such as searches, add-to-cart, and quote requests.
  • Technical logs from our hosting provider (Vercel): IP address, request time, and user agent, kept for security and troubleshooting.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See section 7.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. The Site sells automotive parts to businesses and adults.

3. How we use it

  • To answer quote requests and contact messages, and to send you a confirmation of what you submitted.
  • To process orders, take payment, ship parts, and provide order history.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including measuring which pages and searches are used.
  • To send transactional email about your quotes, orders, or account.
  • To send occasional product and maintenance guides by email, only if you opt in. Every such message carries an unsubscribe link, and we never send marketing email to a quote or contact address that did not opt in.
  • To comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Who we share it with

Service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, only for the purposes above:

Amazon and other affiliate partners. European Wholesale Parts is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you follow an Amazon link on this site, Amazon may set cookies and collect information directly from your browser, including your IP address, the page you came from, and what you go on to view or buy, and may use that information under Amazon's own privacy notice. The same applies to other third-party retailers we link to as an affiliate. We do not receive your personal information from those purchases; we receive aggregate commission reports only. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer.

5. How long we keep it

  • Quote and contact submissions: 3 years after the last contact, so we can follow up and keep records of what was quoted.
  • Orders and payment records: at least 7 years, as required for tax and accounting.
  • Account data: for as long as the account is open, then deleted within 90 days of a deletion request.
  • Analytics data: per Google Analytics retention settings, currently 14 months.

6. Your rights (California residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, completed order records).
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

To exercise a right, email info@europeanwholesaleparts.com or call (408) 372-8884. We will verify your identity by matching the details you provide against our records and respond within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent with written permission.

Residents of other states with privacy laws may have similar rights; contact us and we will honor them where they apply.

7. Cookies

  • Strictly necessary: session and authentication cookies set by Clerk and the Site. Required for sign-in and the cart.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not show a consent banner; you can opt out with Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout or by blocking cookies for this site.
  • Payment: Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout elements for fraud prevention.
  • Third-party content and links: Amazon and other retailers we link to may serve content and set cookies in your browser when you follow those links; those cookies are governed by their privacy notices, not ours.

You can block cookies in your browser; the Site will still work but you will not stay signed in.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with providers that maintain SOC 2 or equivalent controls. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it to fulfil your request. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as required by California law.

9. Changes

We will post any changes here with a new effective date. Material changes will be announced on the Site for at least 30 days.
